Ventures - A Melhor Banda Instrumental de Todos os Tempos

Com seu visual nerd , jeito de bons moços...a primeira vez que tive contado com Os Ventures , num loja de discos em Porto Alegre ,  eles não me chamaram atenção...meses depois um amigo trouxe um vinil do seu pai...para me mostrar....fiquei chapado com a interação das guitarras dos amigos Don Wilson e Bob Bogle, guitarristas com forte influência do grande Chet Atkins (o maior guitarrista do Nashville Country da história.

Eles iniciaram carreira em 1958, tocando em cervejarias e pequenos clubes noturnos na cidade de Seattle, localizada ao noroeste dos Estados Unidos.Em 1959, lançaram seu primeiro compacto com vocais, “The Real McCoy” e “Cookies and Coke”, sem grande êxito. Logo em seguida, com Nokie Edwards no baixo e Skip Moore na bateria, gravaram “Walk Don’t Run”, que não interessou a nenhuma gravadora. Decidiram então, com a ajuda financeira da mãe de Don Wilson, montar uma gravadora própria, a “Blue Horizon Records”, para auto promoção e produção.

O sucesso começou quando conseguiram convencer o DJ Pat O’Day, a usar “Walk Don’t Run” na abertura do seu programa jornalístico. Bob Reisdorf, proprietário da Dolton Records, ouviu, gostou, e assinou com os “Ventures”. Sobreviveram ao fim do reinado da surf music e  fazem show até hoje , com a mesma cara de bons moços...só que agora velhinhos.
